Sandy Hook Light is America's oldest working lighthouse, positioned near New York Harbor where the Atlantic Ocean meet Raritan Bay in New Jersey. The octagonal tower was built before the Revolution by the State and Port of New York for the benefit of their city, which can be seen from the top in clear weather.
